Preparing For your photo session can be really easy,

Posing
When it comes to posing, your photographer should make you feel comfortable, having posing prompts, and direction, throughout your session. I personally make sure to walk my clients through their prompts, posing, and experience. Posing should be the photographers Jon, you shouldn't worry when it comes to picking the right poses. You're hiring your photographer because you trust them, and enjoy their work. Simply mentioning your discomfort when it comes to posing to your photog will allow them to help better guide you.
Little things
The little thing's matter when it comes to your images. Make sure when accessorizing not to go too crazy, less is always more! Make sure not to leave your cell phones in your pockets, smart watches on your wrist, or hair ties on your wrist. These funny little things are details that show up easily in photos, and can be a pain to get rid of. If you want to help your photographer, try to remember to bring a small bag to carry your personal items, that you can leave outside of the images.
What to wear
What to wear is one of the biggest questions when it comes to inquiring with a photographer. There are easy was to remember what clothing choices will enhance your images, vs. draw away from your images. I have built for my clients a Client Styling Guide built around all the ins and outs of what to wear. Stay away from bright colors, such as neons, bright reds, & blues as well. Try to avoid wearing flip flops, or work out sneakers to your session. Stray away from large busy patterns, and prints.
Wearing Neutral colors, in any shade and variations will add a natural cohesiveness to your images! Adding fun textured items, and layers to your outfit also builds personality and depth to your images.
PREPARE FOR ANYTHING
Being prepared for your photos can be really important. Especially considering the location, possible travel, and weather. If you're traveling to a location where you're expected to walk far to the location, bring an extra pair of shoes! Having a backpack with the essentials such as bug spray, extra clothes, proper shoes, a jacket, umbrella, hair ties, snacks, water or any other essentials you may need can be a major life saver when it comes to preparing for your photos. Its always better to have what you may need to overcome any obstacle, and enjoy your day!
TIME / PLAnning
When you book with your Photographer you book a time frame for the photos to be taken. Being on time for your session is extremely important to your photographer. It shows you respect their time, and the effort it takes for them to show up for you. It would be a benefit to pre-map your session location in order to make sure you a lot yourselves enough time to reach the location in a timely manor. A small detail such as this can really help benefit your relationship with your photographer, and will only take a few moments to map out.
